Who doesn’t love to surround themselves with beautiful things. Our little shop in Victoria Street, North Melbourne (est. 2010) is full of quirky objects, quality accessories, on-trend decor, handmade jewellery, covetable stationery and books, and plenty of stuff you may or may not ‘need’ — an immensely broad category if you ask us!
We’ve got sculptural forms for minimalists and a riot of colour on top of an overload of pattern for the maximalists. There’s a wall of things for him, various overlapping sections for her and a whole area just for mini peeps. And then there’s our obsession with animals.
We’re constantly updating our range and aim to give you a retail experience that will entertain, inspire, and keep you coming back because we can source items that aren’t in every other shop. We aim to be a breath of fresh air amongst homewares stores that all look similar and push the same products — like their only customers are one who watch The Block and nothing else. Our products reflect our own aesthetic, which is quality led, whimsical, ahead of the trend curve and ultimately about surrounding ourselves with beautiful things.
We get it that in this day and age that a retail experience has to be superlative to compete with online shopping. We promise to give you a delightful shopping experience and welcome one and all. That includes your pooches on leads and your grumpy (but of course adorable) kids.
Come in and let us help you choose a present for the hard to buy for. Or maybe that’s you. LOL.
WHO ARE WE?
With a BA in Visual Art (Sculpture) and a degree in Millinery, Kirk also keeps herself busy as an accessories designer with her own label KIRK COUTURE. Her favourite thing in-store is the gold piggy bank by Areaware. The mould was created from the designer’s pet piglet who died of natural causes :o( Cast in marble and resin, it’s then chromed with gold.
After completing a BA in Industrial Design at RMIT he’s ended up lecturing there as well. As a practicing industrial and product designer, Nick has his own label, Black Panda.
In store you can see his bogan ceramics, concrete bowls, planters and lighting.
You’ll also meet gorgeous, smiley friendly Leila who can give you the spiel on everything. Her other life includes actor, writer and performer. Leila loves dogs too. (Doesn’t everyone?)
Bill is the Shop Dog — a Beagle Basset food hound. He’s a grand old man now, certainly less sprightly than he was, but still with a 'sometimes' delightful demeanour.
